With this coconut cookies recipe the lesson is about coconut. The children look at and hold a coconut, and learn that the inside is white and the outside brown. They feel the rough texture and compare it with the smooth surface of the table they work on. We then shake the coconut (auditory stimulation) and hear that there is milk inside. We then look at some coconut shavings and taste them. We then use coconut in the following recipe. This lesson is about smell, touch, colour, fine motor skills, general knowledge and taste.
